Managing Partner, CPA

David Winitsky is the Managing Partner of Winitsky Group. He graduated from Rutgers University in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and began his career at Federal Tax Service Co. the same year. Over the years, David advanced through the ranks, becoming a Partner in 2019 and playing a pivotal role in the firm's evolution.

As a Licensed CPA, David is renowned for his expertise in tax and business advisory, particularly within real estate and related sectors. His leadership is integral to the firm’s vision, driving its growth and ensuring the delivery of exceptional client service. David is recognized for his strategic insights and commitment to helping clients build lasting financial legacies.

Beyond his professional achievements, David actively contributes to his community by serving on non-profit boards and providing valuable guidance.

Elliot Winitsky

Tax Partner, EA

Elliot Winitsky is a Tax Partner at Winitsky Group. A Pace University graduate with a bachelor’s in accounting, Elliot began his career as a staff accountant at Sigmand Balaband, CPA, in New York City. His career path took a significant turn when he became CFO of a real estate development firm, where he played a crucial role in establishing a thriving business still successful today. This experience provided him with deep insights into business operations, enhancing his reputation in the real estate sector.

Elliot returned to the accounting field in 1991, joining Federal Tax Service Co as its second partner. Over the following three decades, he was instrumental in transforming FTS into one of New York City’s premier accounting firms. His extensive expertise and strategic vision have been key to the firm's enduring success.

Ralph Kassin

Audit Partner, CPA

Ralph Kassin, a Rutgers University graduate with a BS in Accounting, brings extensive experience in the audit field. He has previously worked with Hecht and Company and LM Cohen CPA, where he honed his skills as a Senior Auditor. As the head of Winitsky Group’s Audit Division, established in 2022, Ralph specializes in manufacturing, wholesale, and retail sectors

Ralph’s expertise encompasses financial statement preparation, including audits, reviews, and compilations, as well as covenant calculations and business tax returns. His deep industry knowledge and commitment to excellence make him a leading authority in his field.

Jeany Castellanos

Chief Operating Officer

Jeany Castellanos has been an integral part of Winitsky Group since March 2011, beginning her career as a Corporation Formations Services Coordinator and Accounting/Office Manager. In her current role as Chief Operating Officer, Jeany manages the day-to-day operations of the firm, overseeing the accounting team and ensuring that every administrative process is organized and executed efficiently. She plays a key role in managing the firm's transactions and ensuring smooth operations across all departments.

With the formation of over 300 entities across the United States under her supervision, Jeany collaborates closely with accountants and new business owners to facilitate a quick and efficient process, minimizing delays and ensuring client satisfaction. Since joining the firm, she has been instrumental in implementing a fully functional paperless environment, transitioning to a cloud-based project and billing management platform, and streamlining electronic signature processes for consent, authorization, and enrollment forms. Her leadership and dedication have been crucial to the firm's continued success and innovation.

Yelena Marchenko

Tax Manager, EA

With 25 years of experience, Yelena Marchenko is dedicated to providing exceptional service through accurate, timely, and detailed analysis of clients’ financial information. Specializing in individual, corporate, and partnership taxation, she is committed to preparing, reviewing, projecting, advising, and e-filing with a focus on maximizing client savings. Yelena's personal philosophy centers on staying informed about the latest tax codes and constantly evolving laws to navigate the fast-paced market effectively.

Yelena immigrated from Kiev, Ukraine, as a teenager and pursued her education at Baruch College. Her career began with small firms like Kimberly & Wisdom, LLC, Robert Mollenhauer CPA, and Rubin Gorowitz CPA, before joining Federal Tax Service, where she has had the privilege of working for over a decade. She prides herself on surrounding herself with professionals who are passionate about their work and dedicated to providing the best possible care to their clients.

In her spare time, Yelena continues to educate herself and trains as a home care aide, volunteering her skills to assist the elderly.

Howard Leeds

Tax Manager, EA

With 40 years of experience, Howard J. Leeds joined Winitsky Group in 2021, bringing a wealth of expertise in high-net-worth individual taxation, corporate and partnership taxation, and tax controversy resolution at both IRS and state levels. Known for his tenacity and dedication, Howard has a notable background in technology, sports, entertainment, and general business.

Previously, he led Federal Tax Research at Dai-Ichi Kangyo Bank and served as a tax preparer at Padell Nadell Fine Weinberger & Co. CPAs. Howard holds a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from Hofstra University (1985). Outside of work, he volunteers with community youth organizations, including as a Merit Badge Counselor with the Boy Scouts of America.

Martin Braunschweig

Tax Accountant, ESQ

Martin Braunschweig is a Senior Accountant and licensed attorney at Winitsky Group. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from George Washington University, studied Accounting at New York University Stern Business School, and earned his Juris Doctor from Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center. A member of the New York Bar since 1991, Martin brings a comprehensive legal and financial background to his role.

With over a decade of experience, Martin specializes in preparing tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, foundations, estates, trusts, gift tax, and sales tax. He is adept at representing clients in tax matters before the IRS and state agencies, including audits and penalty abatements. His expertise extends to estate matters, real estate closings, and college financial aid planning.

Jim Fell

Tax Accountant

Jim Fell is a Senior Tax Accountant at Winitsky Group, with a specialization in foreign tax issues. He began his career at Colt Industries, where he gained extensive experience in foreign tax credit, controlled foreign corporation reporting, and compliance with international tax laws. His expertise led him to Price Waterhouse, where he managed client engagements, implemented corporate tax software, and pioneered remote work strategies.

Jim's career includes roles at Ernst & Young and as Vice President of Tax Systems at MetLife, where he played a key role during the company’s transition to a stock company. At Winitsky Group, Jim’s deep knowledge in international taxation and his hands-on experience make him a valuable resource for clients facing complex foreign tax challenges.

Luisa Almazan

Tax Accountant

Luisa Almazan specializes in tax accounting with a focus on high-net-worth individuals and entities. Her career began at UHY Victor LLP while completing her bachelor’s degree, where she gained experience in forecasting, corporate structures, and preparing tax returns for both U.S. and Canadian clients. She also contributed to the Cross-Border Survival Guide, highlighting her expertise in international tax issues.

Luisa continued her career with an internship at PwC Canada, focusing on U.S. tax returns and supporting tax research. After relocating to the U.S., she worked at UHY Advisors NY Inc., where she specialized in tax planning and compliance for various entities, including handling complex foreign tax matters. Her dedication to simplifying tax complexities ensures precise and effective solutions for her clients.

Jake Leeds

Tax Accountant

Jake Leeds joined FTS part-time in 2017 while pursuing his B.A. in Accounting from Adelphi University. After graduating in 2021, he transitioned to a full-time role as a tax preparer. Jake specializes in preparing Individual, Partnership, S-Corp, and corporate tax returns, and he also oversees the firm's bookkeeping services, ensuring accurate and timely financial management for clients.

Jacob Winitsky

Tax Accountant

Jacob Winitsky joined Winitsky Group part-time in 2019 while pursuing his associate degree in accounting. He continued his studies at Monmouth University, where he focused on advanced accounting principles. Since 2019, Jacob has worked as a tax preparer at Winitsky Group, specializing in high-net-worth individuals. His experience also includes previous roles at Stern Properties and Amazon Consulting Experts.

Jennifer Bestanzo

Office Administrator

Jennifer Bestanzo Castro joined Winitsky Group in 2023, bringing valuable experience from her previous administrative role at a pediatrics clinic, where she excelled in managing front desk operations, preparing legal documents, and organizing files. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Sociology with a minor in Urban Studies from Manhattan College, graduating in 2022.

In her current position, Jennifer plays a crucial role in ensuring smooth office operations by handling data management, client communications, and administrative support tasks. Her strong organizational skills and attention to detail enhance the efficiency of our office environment.

Joe Gindi is an accountant currently pursuing a double major in Accounting and Finance at the University of Maryland. With a passion for precision and a deep commitment to continuous education, Joe is dedicated to providing accurate, insightful financial guidance. His attention to detail and eagerness to stay ahead in the ever-evolving financial landscape make him a valuable asset to his clients and peers alike
